Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern in the area of Application Security to join our Information Security team. In this role, the intern will focus on strengthening the security of our software applications and systems, with an emphasis on web application penetration testing, cloud security audits, content management system security testing, and developing security automation tasks using Python.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Web Application Penetration Testing:

• Conduct regular penetration tests on web applications to identify vulnerabilities.

• Document findings and suggest remediation strategies.

 

 

Cloud Security Audits:

• Perform security assessments of our cloud infrastructure and services.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of our client’s cloud security measures and recommend improvements.

 

 

Content Management System (CMS) Security Testing:

• Test CMS for security weaknesses, including plugins and themes.

• Provide guidance for securing CMS-driven websites against common attacks.

• Work with developers to fix vulnerabilities in a timely manner.

 

 

Security Automation Tasks:

• Develop and maintain scripts in Python for automating security testing and monitoring tasks.

• Implement automation tools to streamline security processes.

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Student who is currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

• Familiarity with software engineering principles.

 

 

Skills:

• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

• Basic understanding of Software development practices (e.g., Waterfall, DevOps methodologies).

• Basic knowledge in Python for scripting and automation tasks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Eagerness to learn and stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

• This is a full-time position. The selected Intern must work 40hrs/week.

• The selected candidate will work either onsite or remote for this Internship.
